When will eFootball 2027 release?

Konami's approach to the eFootball franchise has shifted significantly from the traditional annual release cycle we saw during the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) era. Instead of releasing a completely new game every year, eFootball now operates as a live-service platform.

Understanding the eFootball Update Cycle

Because it is a live-service game, there will not be a standalone "eFootball 2027" that you purchase in a store. Instead, the game receives a massive "Season Update" around late August or early September of every year. Therefore, you can expect the eFootball 2027 seasonal update to drop in late August or early September 2026.

During these major seasonal transitions, your base game client is updated for free. Konami usually uses this period to introduce:

  • Major gameplay engine tweaks and new animations.
  • Updated player databases reflecting summer transfers.
  • Refreshed menus and user interface elements.
  • Resetting of player contracts and specific in-game currencies (though they have become more lenient with carrying over assets).

What to Expect from the 2027 Update

While official features won't be announced until much closer to the release window, the community is hoping for several key additions based on the trajectory of the game:

  • Master League Return: The most requested feature since the launch of eFootball. Konami has stated it is in development as premium DLC, but timelines remain vague.
  • Enhanced Graphical Fidelity: As the life cycle of current-generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X/S) matures, fans expect better lighting, pitch degradation, and player models.
  • Expanded Edit Mode: Crucial for the PC and PlayStation communities to import real kits and team names.

Stay tuned to the official eFootball social channels during July and August 2026 for the official roadmap and trailer for the v4.0.0 (eFootball 2027) update.
