Is eFootball cross platform?

Yes, eFootball is cross-platform, but the full implementation of cross-play has been a gradual rollout by Konami. The goal from the very beginning of the eFootball rebrand was to create a unified ecosystem where players on any device could play against anyone else.

Current Cross-Play Status

The cross-play functionality is largely divided into "console families" and the broader ecosystem:

  • Cross-Generation (Seamless): Players on PlayStation 4 can play against players on PlayStation 5 without any issues. Similarly, Xbox One players match up with Xbox Series X/S players seamlessly.
  • Console vs. Console: Konami has been testing and implementing matchmaking between PlayStation and Xbox networks. However, you should check the in-game matchmaking settings, as you usually have the option to restrict matchmaking to your own platform if you prefer.
  • PC (Steam/Windows Store): PC players generally match within the PC ecosystem, though Windows Store versions often integrate with the Xbox network.
  • Console vs. Mobile: This is the ultimate goal of the "eFootball evolution." Konami plans for full cross-play between mobile and console users. To keep things fair, mobile users playing against console users would likely need to be using a connected Bluetooth controller.

Cross-Progression

Cross-progression (sharing your account/team across devices) is handled via your Konami ID. By linking your game to a single Konami ID:

  • Your Dream Team progress is generally platform-specific (a PS5 team stays on PlayStation), but the game is moving toward more unified progression.
  • eFootball Points are shared across all linked platforms. You can earn points on your mobile phone on the bus, and spend them in the shop when you get home to your PlayStation.
  • eFootball Coins (Premium Currency) generally DO NOT transfer across different platforms (e.g., from iOS to PlayStation or Steam to Xbox) due to storefront policies.
