How do divisions work in eFootball League?

The eFootball League is the primary competitive multiplayer mode in the game. It is a ranked mode where you pit your Dream Team against players from around the world to climb the divisional ladder.

The Division Structure

The league is divided into 10 Divisions, with Division 10 being the starting point for beginners, and Division 1 housing the absolute best players in the world.

  • Divisions 10 to 7: These are the introductory divisions. You play against AI or other beginners. Progression is solely based on earning enough points within a 10-match "Phase." You practically cannot be relegated from these early stages.
  • Divisions 6 to 4: The competition stiffens. You now have a strict points threshold to reach promotion, maintain your status, or face relegation. A win grants 3 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0. Matches here are strictly PvP (Player vs. Player).
  • Divisions 3 to 1 (The ELITE): Konami recently revamped the top divisions. Progression here is no longer based on the 10-match point system. Instead, it utilizes a Rating system (Elo). You gain rating points for winning and lose them for losing. To reach Division 1, you must hit a specific Rating threshold (e.g., 1800 Rating).

Phases and Resets

The eFootball League operates in "Phases" that typically last for about 4 weeks. When a Phase ends:

  • You receive rewards (Skill Tokens, Position Trainers, GP, and eFootball Points) based on the highest division you reached during that Phase.
  • Your division is reset for the next phase. Usually, you are dropped down by three divisions (e.g., if you finished in Division 1, you will start the next phase in Division 4).

Division 1: The Top Ranking

Reaching Division 1 is the ultimate goal. Once you hit Division 1, you are given a global numerical rank (e.g., Rank #15,432). From that point on, you play exclusively to increase your Rating and climb the global leaderboard. The matchmaking in Division 1 is ruthless, and you will frequently encounter professional players and massive "whale" squads filled with 103-rated Epic cards.
